A change in packaging {leave feedback & win!}
Saturday, October 24, 2009Some of you may have noticed that I went from several blog packages down to two {the standard and deluxe}. The difference between the two packages was a post divider and signature, but I noticed that not everyone wanted both a divider and signature.
I recently changed my packagin and now offer just one package that you can customize any way you like. You pay for the "standard" package, and each extra is ordered a la carte. I believe this is the best way to make sure my customers get exactly what they pay for.
I'd like your feedback. Do you prefer this system where you basically build a blog and get whatever you want, or would you rather see lots of packages to choose from, with set items in each package?

I think that one package system plus extras is a great option. Sometimes too many choices can be overwhelming. This way, you know where you're starting, and the customer can add all the pretty extras they want.
ReplyDeleteGreat choice.

I love it that I chould choose the extras I wanted and have just one makever package ... very helpful since I am one of those who wants the signature but not the divider! :) Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great idea to me. I find it difficult sometimes to compare multiple packages and to understand what I would be getting with each. I think having a basic package with the ability to add things to it that you want is much easier. Plus, I think it would be easier for you, to not waste time creating items that would have been part of a package that the customer wouldn't necessarily care about/really want, but were getting because they were included. I love your work, and hope to be able to get a blog design from you one day, when funds aren't as tight as they are now.

I think this new idea is great- that way, it can be completely customized to each person's wants! I am BEGGING my hubby for a blog makeover for Xmas!!
ReplyDeleteI'd prefer the a la carte, but maybe one or two main options for someone who wants only a basic or a total re-do. A la carte is what I would pick.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of a standard package with extras added on. This way, the blogger can adapt easily to their style.Super idea!
ReplyDeleteGood idea- helps people personalize their blog even more! I mean, isnt that why they're coming to you in the first place??
ReplyDeleteI think it's a great idea for people to be able to add on what they'd like extra. Great idea.
ReplyDeleteI think the one package system is better. Less confusing and I can get what I want.
ReplyDeleteI think one package with add on options really give you the freedom to be unique with your blog design. way to go.
ReplyDeleteI think the basic and then adding extras is a great idea. For someone just starting out (like me)I wouldn't want something too difficult or expensive but I would like to be able to personalize it a bit and in specific areas so I think tat would help. If you did the standard package, could you add more later on?
ReplyDeleteI think having all the options laid out would be better, in kits. It would make it less complicated about if you wanted a divider, but that would be however much more. I like the idea that you can choose the add-on's too though!
ReplyDeletei think having a few things 'standard' in each package, and then having 'extras' is the best way to go. Maybe a poll to see what people would prefer as extras would help? Not sure...
ReplyDeleteThank you all for the feedback. This system was created for all of you, so it's nice to know that you all like it! :)
ReplyDeleteTo answer Lee-Ann's question. Yes, you can definitely add extras later on, but there would be a small fee to install them. In the end, it would be the most cost effective to purchase everything you want upfront.
I think it is a great idea to have 2 simple packages to choose from. That way, the blog owner gets to further customixe and choose exactly what they want and how they want it.
ReplyDeleteAlso, as a plu sfor you, you can charge ala carte for extras :)

I think that is a nice, simple way to organize the options. Otherwise I think it would be too hard to choose which package you want! (Coming from an indecisive person, hehe)
