I have some wonderful and exciting announcements to share with you.
1. My friend Amy is leaving for China TOMORROW to bring her baby girl Molly home! I met Amy through her blog a while back, and actually traveled with my friend Jill to Nashville to visit her. We stayed at Amy's house and had a wonderful time. Amy will be emailing photos and stories to me, and I will publish them on her blog while she is away. I am really excited that I'll be able to help with the blog while she is in China. She will see her precious girl in just one week!!!
2. My friend Adrienne {who I also got to meet while she was in Nashville} made a HUGE announcement on her blog today. This post is so beautifully written, and is a true testament to faith, hope, and miracles. While I have known about all of this for a while now, it is still so exciting to see her share her news with the world.
So that's all for now. Just wanted to share this news with you. Now don't forget to check out my giveaway in the post below!

I am teaming up with Nat and Armand of Uncooked Cards {my favorite greeting cards!!!} for a fantastic giveaway!! I love stationery, and absolutely love giving and receiving really funny & unique greeting cards. I discovered Uncooked Cards a few years ago, and I was hooked. These are not your typical cards. They are sassy, witty, and hilarious.
I will never forget the day I first discovered Uncooked cards. I stumbled upon this website and immediately called my sister so I could share my wonderful discovery. We read every single card off of the website, laughing hysterically and each and every card.
A few weeks ago, my Fab Friday topic was "funny greeting cards" and I shared a few of my favorite Uncooked Cards with all of you. Well, Nat and Armand {the masterminds behind this amazing line} contacted me, sent some awesome samples my way, and offered to hold what I think is the coolest giveaway ever!

After posting about adding LinkWithin, I received a request to explain how to add ShareThis to your blog posts. I had never done this before, and just visited the ShareThis site and had everything on my blog in about 2 minutes {which includes the time to create an account}. It was pretty simple, so hopefully my tutorial will help.
1. Visit ShareThis and choose the style button you would like.
2. Choose your platform {Blogger WordPress, etc...}
3. Enter your info to create an account.
4. Make sure you are logged into your blog account and click "add to blogger" or to whatever platform you are using.
5. Select the blog, and click add.
That's it! Hope that helps!

I have received a few requests to explain how to install LinkWithin,

If you would like LinkWithin to appear at the bottom of each of your blog posts here is what you should do.
1. Visit LinkWithin
2. Fill out your information in this box, and click "get widget" once you have entered your info and selected the width {# of LinkWithin boxes that will appear at the bottom of each post}.
3. Make sure you are signed into your Blogger or WordPress account, and click the "install widget" link. Then, select the blog that you would like LinkWithin to appear on. At this stage of the process, you will see instructions with photographs that will explain the process.

Have a great weekend! Happy Scrapping!!
I am in no way trying to be mean, but I had to share the photos I {discreetly} took at the flea market on Sunday. I'm thinking that no one {let alone a man} should run around looking like this.
Is it me, or would you only see someone dressed like this in LA?
Is it me, or would you only see someone dressed like this in LA?
I have been working on my scrapbook line and released quite a few new things this week. Here a they are! I also have a freebie in my shop {it's the second item on the first page!}, and plan on releasing a few more as soon as I have some time!
I am going to give two winners each a $16 coupon to my shop at Scrap Matters. Just enough to grab the 4 color your world kits, or anything else that you want!
You should expect to see some fantastic colors coming out soon. I am not really a primary color kind of girl {although I do love orange, yellow, and green}. So basically, I am not so much a fan of red :)
Working on my robin's egg blue kit {my fave} and plan on doing quite a few more colors, as well. The textures will all be really similar, so the point will be that you can mix and match or scrap using your favorite color{s}.
I scanned and extracted a bunch of buttons {I did another 40 this weekend} and all the felt is handmade. I have been having lots of fun cutting, sewing, and stuffing these adorable little felt shapes. Turns out that I'm a little crafty after all.

Bad dates. They aren't fun, but chances are that most of us have faced at least one {if not more}. The one positive about bad dates is that in the end, you have a funny story to share. And who doesn't love a bad date story? I know I do.
If you want to get a good laugh and maybe share one of your stories, please check out this blog. And if you share your story, be sure to leave a comment. I am going to select someone at random in a week to win a fabulous prize.
I can't wait to read all your stories!

I know that some say TV is a waste of time, but I love it. I really, really love it. I have always loved television. Even as a child, I would often try to stay up late to watch the classics on Nick at Nite {Donna Reed, Lucy, Dick Van Dyke etc...}.
These days, there are some absolutely wonderful shows on television. Some are brilliant, and some not so brilliant. I like to mix it up.
My reason for this particular post is that one of my favorite shows will air a 2 hour movie event tonight. If you are a fan of Brothers & Sisters, you are probably anticipating this oh so anticipated event right along with me. There are just so many reasons to love this show. One of the main reasons would be the Sally Field. Don't you just love her??

I cannot wait! But more than anything, I cannot wait for August 16th. My favorite show {Weeds} will return to Showtime. Such a smart, funny, witty, amazing show. I love it.
What are you watching these days? What is your favorite show?

I am meeting two friends for brunch today, and don't really have anything special planned the rest of the weekend. We may BBQ, and I am sure I'll head to the gym at some point. I have been great about going on weekends! I went both Sat-Sun the last two weeks! Now if only I could go a bit more during the week ;)
What are your weekend plans? Whatever they are, I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Interesting title, don't you think? Well, let me explain before I give away a coupon to my shop at Scrap Matters!
I was having a rough day yesterday. My back went out and I was feeling very sore, so after physical therapy I got my nails done with my friend Ally and her dad Richard. Sometimes, you just need to treat yourself, and I was so sore that I could not imagine sitting at my desk anyway. While we were walking to the nail place, two giant blobs of bird poop fall from the sky. One directly in front of us, and one directly behind us. We got really lucky!!
The white stuff actually ended up on my sister's purse {because I was borrowing her bag yesterday}. Thankfully, it wiped right off. And really, I'd rather have it land on her purse than my head. Gross. Anyway, I am thinking that was a sign from above {literally} not to use a bird in my design. What do you think?? I am leaning toward a pen, pup, or cat. Or maybe a silhouette of a girl at a desk. I am going to show a few friends, and then maybe post the final images here and have you all vote on them.
One more thing. The Starr Family is going to win a little prize for commenting on the post below. Please email me :)
On to my giveaway! I am going to give 4 lucky winners a $10 coupon to my shop at Scrap Matters. If you are a digital scrapper or are thinking of giving it a try, this is the giveaway for you!
While you're there, check out my new scrapbook kit! I collaborated with my friend Tara of Geek Chic Scraps. I think we did a great job on this one! I love it.
I also {hand made} these adorable felt shapes {below}. I love how they turned out, and plan to make some more soon! Such a fun project.

Quick update: The design you are looking at now is not the final design! The final one is a bit lighter, and I am definitely not using this flower. I am still thinking about it. Anyway, you are all giving me some great ideas! Thank you!!!
If you've been following my blog, you know that I am working on the design for my new website!! This design has evolved so much over the past month, and I really like where it is going.
My reason for this post is that I usually have a little something next to "The Design Girl" {where I have the flower up top, right now}. So I have two questions for you.
The home page can say "The Design Girl" or "The Design Girl Studio". What do you think sounds better? I'm loving the studio.
Also, I have been using a bird {in my design} for the longest time, but since it seems that everyone is using birds, I feel like I should move on. I thought about using a little cat or pup, or maybe something design related? I really don't know what to do!
I will tell you that my colors will be blue and green with a hint of brown or gray. I have tried every color combo under the sun, and keep going back to blue and green. So very, very me. Anyway, I would love to hear your feedback! If you have a suggestion for something I can use other than a little animal, I'd love to hear it!
I may give a little prize to one commenter, too. ;)
One last thing. I so enjoyed reading all the crazy nicknames that you call your pets! Thanks so much for sharing!
Hope you're all having a great week! Can you believe it's APRIL?!
